TOUR Championship 2024: Round 2 AI Caddie Pick and Best Bet
Table of Contents
After the beginning 18 holes of the 2024 TOUR Championship, held at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia, Scottie Scheffler carries an incredible seven-shot lead into Round 2. It's going to be incredibly tough to defeat him this season as he chases his first FedEx Cup Playoff win after a few years of struggling.
Following every round, we’ll be going through my favorite AI golf picks for the following round, as well as the Rithmm-backed AI Caddie hole score picks I’m rolling with. Let’s get into Round 2!

TOUR Championship Round 2 AI Caddie Pick
Scottie Scheffler to Birdie or Better Hole 2 (+450)
Seeing Scheffler absolutely bulldoze a course that has given him nothing but fits in the last few seasons has me thinking only one thing: it is finally his year to come out victorious in the FedEx Cup standings.
Taking to him to birdie as many holes as holes when he's on a heater like this just seems fitting. Hole 2 may have only allowed two total birdies in Round 1, but the pin location for Round 2 is in the front of the green, directly accessible, and only 197 yards. Scottie, who just missed birdieing this hole in round 1, should have no issue.
Our Rithmm model totally agrees with this analysis, giving Scottie a 36% chance to birdie this hole versus the 18% implied odds.
TOUR Championship Round 2 Best Bet
Matchup: Sahith Theegala > Taylor Pendrith -115
An uncharacteristically poor (relatively) day with his approach shots left Theegala only gaining 0.25 strokes on approach in Round 1, but I would bet on that changing. Theegala has been one of the best Round 2 players on Tour this season, ranking seventh with a 68.9 average this season. While Pendrith has been solid as well, he ranks 58th with a 69.8 average.
The way that Theegala finished, with four birdies in five holes, is indicative of his comfort level as he got going in Round 1. He has a large contingent of family and friends out at East Lake to celebrate his 100th PGA Tour start, and he will look to play well in front of them.
I worry about Pendrith's scrambling after our first day of seeing the new East Lake layout. There are so many spots that you'll need to get up and down on these hard-to-hold Bermuda greens, and losing nearly 1.5 strokes around the greens does not signal lengthy success for the Canadian.
